Intern, Health Financing

Palladium is seeking a fall intern to provide support in the implementation of project activities on the USAID-funded Health Policy Plus project, the HRH2030 Program, and other global health projects. This position will start in Fall 2017. Primary responsibility will be to assist headquarters and field technical staff with literature review, quantitative analysis, and certain administrative tasks related to ongoing technical activities from the key technical program areas (HIV, family planning and reproductive health, health financing, human resources for health (HRH), and other health domains). The intern will contribute to written materials, including reports, research articles, and briefs. French language proficiency is highly desirable.ResponsibilitiesGeneral research support for the health financing portfolio -including desk-based research, quantitative analysis, report writing, and generating presentations.For certain activities, clean cost data and conduct costing analyses, support the development of related reports and modeling tools.Work well both independently with limited management direction and within a team.Support field consultants and local research staff through e-mail and phone callsOrganize team meetings and take minutes as needed.Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Requirements - Qualifications
Undergraduate or Graduate student in public health, international development, international relations, public administration, economics, or a related fieldQuantitative coursework.Ability to work successfully with diverse groups, partners and colleagues and a team playerExcellent writing, communication, and organizational skillsProficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and conducting web-based research.Ability to effectively and efficiently perform multiple tasks and balance competing priorities while meeting deadlines.Desirable

Strong quantitative skills, including data analysis and statistical interpretation. Experience with statistical software such as Stata is desirable.Ability to translate and present complex information to diverse audiences in writing and verbally.Ability to develop technical data into presentations and/or other multimedia formats.Interest in further developing technical skills in areas such as cost analysis, statistics, data analysis, survey methods, qualitative research, modeling and systematic literature review.Experience with policy analyses costing and health economics in previous coursework or work experience desiredProfessional French proficiency preferred.
