A Director is required to support the London office of the International Initiative for Impact Evaluations (3ie) which is hosted by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. 3ie is an organization devoted to improving lives through better policies, programmes and projects which are designed and implemented based on evidence drawn from high quality impact evaluations.
The post is based in London at the London International Development Centre (LIDC), which facilitates interdisciplinary research and training to tackle complex problems in international development by bringing together social and natural scientists from across the University of London's six Bloomsbury Colleges. It manages a growing portfolio of international research programmes, training initiatives, conferences and publications for over 1,700 members and development partners.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small and dynamic team dedicated to the production and use of evidence synthesis to inform policy in international development.
The ideal candidate will have experience in leading teams and/or large research and evaluation studies; experience in either, or both, grant and project management in development agencies, including budget preparation and management; experience in developing new business and raising funding; experience in developing or implementing development policymaking and implementing development programming in one or more countries, or to have worked closely with development policymakers in providing advice, skills and experience of working in different cultural contexts, to have worked in different developing countries, and up-to-date with development issues in low- and middle-income countries that are relevant to 3ie’s work; knowledge of and experience with the designing and/or conducting impact evaluations, systematic reviews, evidence synthesis and evidence mapping. This is a full time appointment until 5 September 2021 in the first instance with possibility for extension. Salary is on Professional Support Grade 8 scale in the range of £54,386 to £62,432 inclusive per annum.
